Sort and rename favorites
Able to rename favorites and hide path. Along with other various 'ugly' bookmarked locations like ftp, this new SAF method in Marshmallow displays favorites in a not very friendly manner.
Able to sort favs by name, and not path.
Also have a setting to sort favs differently that the global method so your default sort method for files and folders can be by date while sorting favorites by name by default.

Allow relative paths in Copy and Move dialogs consistenly
To prevent mistakes
./relative/path/to/[...] (note the necessary dot) could perhaps be required instead of
relative/path/to/[...].../relative/path/to/[...] (ancestor paths) should be supported too.
At the moment (1.53.4) strang things happen with relative paths:
Typing a path without any '/':
1. one can copy a file to a non-existing file (even from the Move popup!)
2. one can copy directories into existing directories (alas even from the Move popup!)
3. one can copy directories to non-existing directories (alas even from the Move popup!)Using relative paths with at least one '/' seems to do absolutely nothing in all other cases I could…

Current dropbox, box and gdrive access is great. Adding these two would simply coordinating between them all!

Able to delete files from SD card (ES can do it why not you)
Able to move and delete files from/to SD card. ES File Explorer can now do it without being rooted. Any reason why you can't implement it? I really like GC, but every time I have to do something on the SD card I have to use ES.

Make it possible to add custom command buttons on toolbar
As much as I love the menu, the button toolbar is where it's at in terms of efficiency.
Since we can already use busybox commands and so many buttons are based on these commands anyway, it would be great to be able to create buttons for the for commands we use most, for example to create a button to access the external SD Card, or modify the behaviour of existing commands, like maintain write privileges to the system folder (Remount /system) instead of having to reactivate it every time the app is restarted.

Maintain a history of working directories
Ghost commander should maintain a history of working directories so that users can easily return to a directory from earlier. An alternative approach would be to support a directory stack à la pushd/popd.

Stable SSH key authentication
While a "proper ssh server authentication" would be nice, there is a very simple change that would make SFTP plugin useful where it is not now.
When connecting to a laptop the current approach with private key per host isn't really working, as the laptop's ip and hostname are different every time.
That could be solved if the plugin would first try /sdcard/.GhostCommander/keys/<hostname>/keyfile and then - if the key file is not found - try a "global" key in the /sdcard/.GhostCommander/keys/keyfile

Add Operations Menu
Add a selection for the file operations menu when you press the menu button so you can copy, move, sendto, delete a file(s) without having to long press. You would have to highlight a file or files first.

update ui to take full advantage of material design concepts
now that we're well out of the gingerbread era, ghost commander deserves a ui refresh. it would be a good idea to maintain the gingerbread-compatible branch, but i think a new version that updates the ui to moderns standards would be a great improvement.

Create a 'directory' that lists recently saved or downloaded files.
Similar to the 'Recent Items' menu in Windows. This way, if you cannot readily remember the save location for a specific app, you can go to this 'directory' and it will have a 'shortcut' to the recently saved/downloaded file and also list its true location. Big time saver and convenience. Thanks for the awesome app by the way!

Make files shareable via Ghost Commander
For example, when I'm browsing pictures in the camera gallery, I would like to click the share icon and then select Ghost Commander. Ideally, once GC opens up, you'd be prompted to select destination, which would be one of your favorites (including SFTP servers etc.).
I found this, which might help out in developing the feature:
