  2. Share file(s) with GC -> GC compresses and encrypt the file with 7z with a predefined password and sends it to cloud/SD/WhatsApp..

    Purpose: Easy compression and encryption from every app for sharing files with friends or storing securely in the cloud. Full compatibility with all systems due to standard 7zip format. 

    Situation: I viewing e.g. a PDF in Adobe Reader or another app  

    1. Click "Share". 
    2. click "Secure with GC" -> in the next step, the shared file is compressed directly in a 7zip file with a user pre-defined password (normally you could use the same password for your cloud)
    3. Next, another "Share" dialogue opens in which the encrypted 7zip file can be stored via GC in the cloud or be shared again…

  5. SFTP: proper ssh server authentication

    Implement proper authentication of the remote ssh server, to protect from rogue services and MitM.
    Consists of the following:

    • Prompt the user for confirmation when connecting to an unknow server by presenting the server's public key's fingerpring and asking if it's correct.
    • Store servers' public keys to avoid prompting the user on subsequent connections and for detecting unexpected public key changes.
    • Provide capability to edit the known hosts store, à la known_hosts file.

    To improve system security, avoid storing any information related to SFTP on user storage locations. Store everything in private app data. Limit sdcard usage to import/export functionality,…

  7. Search for the files in root: mode.

    Currently the search feature works only in the normal mode. To search files on a rooted phone would be useful do that in the root mode as well.

  9. Display Total Progress For Copy/Move

    Copy/Move operations currently display % progress for current file. It would be nice to show % progress for total copy/move request as well.

    Drag and drop files between panels just like Total Commander for Windows, may be with a pop up menu to select 'copy' or 'move' the file.

  12. Show free space of current drive/folder

    Just show "xxxM free" in status bar for the mount point of the current folder. This especially is useful for /sdcard, /system and /data/data.

  13. NFC/Android Beam and Wi-Fi Direct Support

    Great file manager, but what would make it even better is Android Beam and Wi-Fi Direct support. File transfers through Android Beam would be a lot easier. Also initiating a Wi-Fi Direct or Bluetooth connecting by NFC for large transfers, automatically configuring the connection. Maybe a QR code generator to support those non-NFC devices. I know it's a lot to ask: Android Beam, NFC, QR generator and Wi-Fi Direct support, but anything would be great. Thank you in advance.

  14. Check if file exists before copying from CIFS to SD card

    When I copy a folder with lots of files from a network share to an SD card (through SAF) Ghost Commander currently copies the files to the local storage. Only then it tries to copy the files to the SD card (I supposes that's another stupid Android limitation for our "security" and you can't copy files directly to the SD card) and complains that some of the files already exist.
    That would save lots of time if the check would be performed for each file before it is actually copied.

  17. make it possible to move files between folders on smb shares without copying the file locally

    is it possible to move a file between folders on a samba share without copying locally.. currently moving a file from a samba share to another folder on the same samba share copies the file locally then puts it to the destination folder

  19. Tree Command

    I've been hacked, and rooted, overlay installed, and being monitored. Everyone thinks I'm crazy, even you the reader.
    - My wonderful hacker left me a gift. They installed Goast Commander on my phone. It doesn't have SU and they've implemented Administrative privileges to limit my attempts to get them out of my phone.
    - GC having it's own set of privileges allows me to get to root / it would be extremely convenient to execute a command that list everything to a text file.

  20. update ui to take full advantage of material design concepts

    now that we're well out of the gingerbread era, ghost commander deserves a ui refresh. it would be a good idea to maintain the gingerbread-compatible branch, but i think a new version that updates the ui to moderns standards would be a great improvement.
