  2. for files without extension, determine the file type using the magic number

    I have some files (music and videos) that do not have file extensions. On Linux, I can just use them anyway because it detects the file type based on the first few bytes. On android, I always have to choose from all installed apps.

  3. implement a filter/hide/ignore list

    Implement a filter option as a user configurable ignore list, which can be turned on or off, and which contains file name patterns to ignore. E.g. I might choose to render all ".txt~" files invisible, as they are temp files from a text editor.
    Best would be to also have an indicator, e.g. "[    ]" or just an asterisk, at the end of the path spec in the title bar as a reminder that filtering is active.
    As to competing File Managers, I may be a bit short sighted, but anyhow so far I have personally not seen any…

  4. make it possible to move files between folders on smb shares without copying the file locally

    is it possible to move a file between folders on a samba share without copying locally.. currently moving a file from a samba share to another folder on the same samba share copies the file locally then puts it to the destination folder

  5. Drag and drop files between panels

    Drag and drop files between panels just like Total Commander for Windows, may be with a pop up menu to select 'copy' or 'move' the file.

  6. enable/disable auto reload

    Currently, panel content is inevitably reloaded after every operation. Whilst this behaviour may be convenient, there are various scenarios where it turns really painful, e. g.

    • local directories with many files (hundreds or thousands)
    • any listings with thumbnails
    • any search results (being recalculated again and again)
    • remote directory listings over slow/expensive connections, especially when there are many files

    As a user who frequently works with such cases or, even worse, combinations of them, I would greatly appreciate if auto reloading was optional.

  9. Calculate the occupied file summary size on an FTP site

    Show the information about the combined files/folders size on the ftp site the user is currently connected.

  10. Search for the files in root: mode.

    Currently the search feature works only in the normal mode. To search files on a rooted phone would be useful do that in the root mode as well.
